After Manchester United officially announced the signing of Matthijs de Ligt, minutes later they confirmed the signing of full-back Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich on a four-year deal with the option to extend for a further year.
The Red Devils could bring Mazraoui into the squad immediately after Luke Shaw was rule out with an injury at left-back, with the England international expected to be back after the first international break when they host Fulham in the Premier League on Friday.
The 26-year-old Morocco international full-back has joined for an initial fee of £12.8m (€15m) plus a further £4.3m (€5m) in performance-related bonuses.
“It’s an incredible feeling to be a Manchester United player and I can’t wait to walk out onto the pitch in the red shirt at Old Trafford. I know it’s an exciting time to be joining this club. Everyone I’ve spoken to shares the ambition to win trophies and I can feel the determination to do so.”
“Erik Ten Hag has been a huge part of my development as a player, so it’s exciting to be back with him in the prime of his career โปรโมชั่น ufabet. I know what he expects from his players and I’m going to give everything to help the team succeed.”
Mazraoui will now compete with Diogo Dalot for a place in the United side, and it will be interesting to see whether ten Hag sees his new signing as a guaranteed starter. Dalot has often been utilise on the left-hand side of defence, and with Luke Shaw struggling through injuries over the last few years, we could see both Dalot and Mazraoui playing together this season.
